7th - Well thats another year gone for the band. What with two new members and then unfortunatly due to circumstances beyond our control we had to cancel the last two gigs of 2019 this meant we didnt go out on a high. These things happen. However we are still bringing the music on line ready for 2020 and already looking forward to the 25th Jan and a trip up the M4 to Swindon. It's gonna be fun!
November 2019
27th - Unfortunatly, due to circumstances beyond our control we have had to cancel our gig this weekend at The Riflemans in Glastonbury. We were are all looking forward to this playing this new venue, so this is a real shame. Our apologies if you were planning to attend. With the assistance of the venue will try and reschedule this gig in 2020. Please keep watching the GIGS page for updates.
22nd - Two more gigs have now been added to the 2020 diary (details in GIGS). One sees a return to the Salthouse in Clevedon, the other is The Talbot in Calne, which is another new venue for the band...
13th - The gig at the Riverside in Midsomer Norton on 15th February has been moved forward to the 8th February.
4th - Saturday the 2nd saw the band arrive at a very wet Gloucester Road in Bristol for their gig at the Cat and Wheel. After what seemed an age dodging rain drops, all the equipment was in and set up in this really cosy venue, and for the first time Jon even managed to find enough space to squeeze his Leslie speaker in for the full Hammond effect. This was a cracking gig with the band even doing an impromptu jam section, which got a round of applause, to give Martin a breather. All in all a brilliant night and the weather didn't put people off as both sides of the pub were crowded. Thanks go out to the brave souls who ventured out and to the Cat and Wheel for having us. See you all in 2020.
1st - Unfortunatly, due to a band member work committment over the weekend of the 16th and 17th November we have had to cancel the gig at Scally's on Saturday the 16th. A real shame as we were all looking forward to it. Our apologies if you were planning to attend. Hopefully we can reschedule in 2020.
October 2019
31st - Another gig for 2020 has been added to the list. With thanks to Status Promotions, the years proceddings will now begin at the Queens Tap in Swindon on Saturday the 25th January. This venue is usually good fun to play and we are hopeing for more of the same.
20th - 19th October and the band arrived at The Salthouse in Clevedon. This was the first visit to this venue since 2016 and that one was a cracker,. After all the gear in and set up, Status Quo's Rain was used to prove the gear was doing what it should do and after a short refreshment break the band lauuched into Queens Tie Your Mother Down. Two hours and 10 minutes later and the band finished off with signature song Hush.and that was that. However you the audience had other ideas and asked for more. So with the nod from the barstaff two more songs were given an airing and that brought the evenings proceedings to a close. Another hour later and the pub was returned to its normal decor, all the gear was stashed away and everyone departed to the four corners of Hushland. Our thanks to Andrea for booking us, the barstaff for their assistance and you the audience for being there. It means so much.
The band now has three gigs in November to conclude 2019 and that will be it until February 2020. The diary is active for next year and filling nicely, so if you would like Hush to play your venue or party, please get in touch. Details are in the CONTACTS page in the site or you can now use Facebook https://www.facebook.com/HUSHcovers
6th - Saturday 5th October saw the band arrive at The Three Tuns in Chepstow, South Wales. This was a new venue for Hush and also the first time the band had played in a different country since it's formation. So the what goes where game got played, a bit of nightmare before the gear can be assembled. However it seemed to go where we thought it would and better than that it all worked out of the box. A conservative set had been worked out and by the end of the evening we had a very good idea of what you the audience liked was forming, by coming and joining the band on the dance floor. Which was nice and if there is the chance to play for you again we will add to the material that went down well. Our thanks to the barstaff who assisted our arrival, nothing seemed too much trouble for them and to you the audience who came out on a soggy and not nice evening. We salute you!!!!
September 2019
23rd - Saturday the 21st, saw the band back at The Trout in Keynsham, for the second visit in 2019. This would see new guys Paul and Martins first ever visit to the venue. Strangely, the gear went in and surprisingly for all was set up in record time, so there was time to see who was wandering in and checking us out. It looked like it could be a fun evening. First mpressions wern't too far off with setup number Wishing Well getting a round of applause. The shape of things to come? 9.30 ish and proceedings started with Queen's Tie your Mother Down. After two 50 minute sets with a quick break in the middle that was the evening over, except for the two encores Paranoid and Smoke on the Water. All round a brilliant evening for all the band. As usual, our thanks to Jim and Jackie for having us and especially you the audience for being there. Hopefully we w;ll get an invite for 2020.
;The next gig will be at the Three Tuns in Chepstow. This sees the bands first gig in another country. Its gonna be fun !!
16th - Due to time updates to the website have been a bit sparse recently, but that is not to say the band has not been busy. Paul and Martin and the rest of the guys have been getting to know each other a bit better and in the rehearsal studio working hard to bring on line the musical circus that is Hush. Due to the lineup change, gigs were kept to a minimum with the Cross Key's as a work exercise which went extremly well. This Saturday the 21st see's the band set up camp in the The Trout at Keynsham, which is always a good gig. Over the following nine weeks the band will be playing at five venues , with two new ones in the list. Full details are on the GIGS page.
The 2020 diary is now open and the GIGS page will be updated as soon as venues are confirmed. If you would like Hush to play for you, please get in touch using the CONTACTS page.
July 2019
7th - A warm Saturday evening saw the band arrive at The Cross Keys in Hanham. This was a new venue for Hush and also the first gig with Paul and Martin. The inevitable game of what goes where ensued, venues always look bigger in daylight. Tie your Mother Down got the evening going and after two 45 minute ish sets the evening concluded with Smoke on the Water. As far as we were all concerned it went extremely well and the reaction from the audience showed we wern't too far off the mark with the music choice. Our thanks to all who were there and to you the bar staff as nothing seemed too much trouble to help get us in. Well thats the first one under our belts, bring on the next one which will be The Trout in Keynsham on the 21st September. We cant wait !!!!
June 2019
14th - The countdown continues. Also a further gig has been added to the website with a visti to Scally's in Weston Super Mare on the 16th November.
3rd. Everything is still on track ready for the Cross Keys gig on the 6th of July and we can't wait!!
Another gig has also been added with the rescheduled one for The Riflemans in Glastonbury. This will now take place on the 30th November 2019. This will see another new venue for the band.
May 2019
15th. Martin's details are now up on the site and thrashing out the set list now continues. We are having fun getting them ready and hope to see you all later this year.
5th - We are pleased to announce that we now number five with the addition of Martin Linham on vocals who has graciously accepted our offer to join the band. His Bio will be afdded to the site shortly. Now the hard work begins to be ready for the Cross Keys in July.
1st - Due to the missing vocalist situation we have had to cancel the gig at Cat and Wheel in Bristol. Dissappointing, but we thought it to be prudent to first take the pressure off, even if we found the right person in time, but also to give the venue a chance to find another band which would not be on short notice. Always trying to think ahead, Sometimes it works. Apologies if you were planning to attend, but we have a gig there later in the year
The numbers are ramping up quite nicely with Paul and 30 songs are now active with only a handful left from the agreed provisional list. Just need the vocals to finish it off! Definatly work in progress!!
March 2019
19th - Hush now number four with the official adition of Mr Paul Dunne joining the band on guitar. Paul's details have been added to the website. Rehearsals are progressing nicely with a sizeable chunk of numbers now becoming active. Just need the right guy on vocals to complete the sound. If you think you can fit in, please get in contact.
6th - Unfortunatly, we have had to cancel the gig at The Riflemans at Glastonbury on the 6th April, which is a shame as we were looking forward to it. This desision was not taken lightly, but given the time we had to integrate new personel into the band we thought it best to cancel now. It could have been done, but would in all probability not be as we would have wanted it. So cancelling now and giving The Riflemans the oppurtunity to get another band in with plenty of time, we thought was best alround. Apologies if you were planning to attend, but we have been offered a reschedule when we are at 100%, so hope to get to Glastonbury later this year.
2nd - A windy Saturday evening saw the band arrive at The Trout Tavern in Keynsham which for its size is one of the biggest little venues played. Everything went in and got set up in quick time, which is a first here. There were plenty of people enjoying themselves all evening, which is always a good sign, but we found out nearer the end of the evening that the vocals were a bit down in the mix. Our apologies. Our thanks to Jim, Jackie and staff for making us welcome.
Sadly, the gig at The Trout, was the last gig for Glenn Banwell and John Griffiths who are off to pastures new. Our best wishes to them and their new project. So Hush play hunt the band members yet again.
February 2019
19th - Unfortunatly, we have had to cancel the planned gig at the Salthouse in Clevedon on the 16th March. Our apologies if you were planning to attend. These things do happen occasionally, but fear not, we are scheduled to be there later in the year on the 19th October.
10th - Saturday the 9th, saw Hush on the road for the first time in 2019 travelling to Midsomer Norton and The Riverside. The thoughts the weather may have played a part in proceedings luckily came to nought as the equipment piled in and as we were going to try a different set up, it took a while to work out. The band have played there on three previous occasions and used a different equipment set up each time, but we now think its nailed and its logged in the grey cells! With the setup number getting applause, could this be the evenings progression. All in all the evening was perfect, even a couple of tech issues to keep the band on the toes didnt effect the show. We cant wait to come back and do it all again. Our thanks to Tony and staff and you the audience for your appreciation whereever you travelled from and returned to.
January 2019
8th - From all the band can we wish you all a Happy New Year. Having had a break with a few minimal practices the band will be back in the rehearsl mode ready for the first gig of the year at The Rivereside in Midsomer Norton. This is a great venue and hopefully will be packed!
