17th - Well, that's it for this year. Big thanks to everyone who come
along to see us.
The 2013 diary is filling up quite nicely, so check out the gigs page for
where we will be next year.
16th - The last gig of the year was in a new venue - the Tap & Barrel. As
always there was the game of fitting everything in but we managed it and a
good time was had by the band. Our thanks to Mike and staff for making us
welcome. This was Simon's second gig and it went very well, he's settled in
great.
9th - We were back to the Railway and this time no equipment issues. It
was Simon's first foray as lead vox and everything seemed to run to plan.
Thank you to Colin and staff for making us welcome and everyone who popped
along to see us.
The next gig is at the Tap and Barrel in Bedminster, which is a new venue
for us. So the game of "What fits Where" will no doubtbly be played.
November 2012
23rd - Since Simon joined the band, we have been fairly busy during rehearsals
to get everything in place for our foray at the Railway in Radstock. The majority
of the selected numbers have been finalised and are now being run through.
Its all looking good.
On the gig front for 2013. We are now close to our normal yearly allocation
of 2 gigs per month and have a few dates left, which should be allocated
soon. If there any venues out there that would like us to play, it may be
an idea to contact us as soon as possible.
October 2012
28th - Back at the Reckless Engineer for Halloween, and what a sight! All
manner of costumes made an appearance for a packed pub and a brilliant night.
The band agreed it was one of the highlight gigs so far and a fitting departing
gig for Ant. A huge thanks for everyone coming along and good luck to Ant for
the future.
15th - After numerous auditions for the vocalist position, due to Ant
departing, the band has made the decision that sees Simon Withers accepting
the position. Simon is in the process of getting married, our congratulations
to him, and this precludes him from accepting the role immediately. So for
the Halloween gig at the Reckless Engineer, Mr Meade will be doing it as his
bow out gig. Come along and wish him well.
September 2012
20th - We are also looking to 2013 and bookings. If any venues would like
us to play for them, please use the details in the CONTACTS page.
17th - Unfortunatly due to work comitments Ant is having to leave the band.
This is after a lot of work has been done bringing him up to speed on new
and old numbers. Can't be helped and we all wish him the best. So if anyone
out there thinks thinks they can take up the vocalists mantle and fill his
shoes please use the details in the CONTACTS page
9th - A return to the Trout in Keynsham saw a rake of new numbers go into
the set. As usual a thank you to Jim and Jackie for making us welcome and
thanks to everyone who came and saw us.
August 2012
8th - Due to be a double booking at the Anchor in Warminster, they have
had to cancel our gig. We hope to rearranged this shortly and the dates will
be posted in the GIGS page. Our apologies to persons that were coming to see
us.
July 2012
29th - Another gig, another new venue. Last night saw Trowbridge's Rising Sun
enjoy the sounds of Hush. Playing in what seemed to be a living room was snug
but a great time was had by the band. We will hopefully be back soon.
17th - It is with heavy hearts that we have learnt Jon Lord the co-founder
of Deep Purple passed away on Monday 16th July. Jon Lord had been suffering
from cancer, but even up until his untimely death was still actively involved
in music. He was a major influence on not only rock, haven co-writting a lot
of Deep Purples music, but also over the last decade writting major classical
works. Our own Jon cites him as one of his major influences and this legend
will be sorely missed. Our condolences go to his family and friends. More
on Jon Lord 's life can be found on his dedicated website http://jonlord.org. The Lord is in heaven.
June 2012
26th - We have just found out that the Devon tour (one date only) to Wattsfest
at Ulffculme, near Tiverton has been cancelled. Very dissappointing, but we
may have another go next year.
10th - Saturday evening saw us back in Weston Super Mare at Scallys. Strange
how you can go to a venue and its changed virtually overnight, this time not
the pub, but the building site next door, but al,the staff helped in getting
us loaded and unloaded in a very tight parking area. Our thanks to everyone
who came and we will see you all soon.
May 2012
9th - The elves have been out in force meaning an update has only just happened. :-)
On Saturday regular Hush haunt, the Trout in Keynsham, was as lively has usual with a good
atmosphere and good reception to a couple of new songs. It was good to see all those who came
along especially to listen/watch/dance with us.
April 2012
30th - As posted earlier, we have been invited to play at a modest festival in Devon - Wattsfest.
We are rather excited about and it looks as though the festival is gaining momentum. Details
can be found on the gig page.
29th - The website has been rather quiet due to the huge amount of work we've been putting
in to get some new songs into the set. A return to the Reckless Engineer last night saw a
couple of new songs in the set with good reaction to both.
Despite a quiet start things got busier as the evening went on, so thanks to all those of you
who came along to see us.
17th - Unfortunatly, the Sisterhood bike rally on Saturday the 19th May
has had to be cancelled.
We have been offered a gig at Wattsfest at Ullfculme, Devon on the 30th
June. Further details will appear as we receive them.
March 2012
6th - Dave's first gig at the Railway in Radstock was wrought with technical problems
with the PA. Thankfully the venue were able to provide a replacement.
Despite those issues the rest of the gig went well and Dave did a grand job.
Huge thanks goes to everyone who stuck with us during the technical problems.
February 2012
4th - Courtesy noun; "a courteous, respectful, or considerate act or expression."
Something the new owners of The Parkway obviously don't have. The band turned up to the pub
tonight expecting to play but were told that the new owners have cancelled all live music.
Letting all booked bands know the state of affairs would have been the courteous thing to do,
but no, they don't do such things.
January 2012
1st - First off this year we would like to welcome into the shoes of Hush guitarist Dave Thorne.
We've had a couple of rehearsals so far and all is going well. After a short break for
Christmas we will be back rehearsing hard for the first gig of the year in February.
